Sustenta Vermi
Smart vermicomposting for reduced spaces
Project supported and financed by the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the University of Chile.We developed a system for organic recycling waste with Internet of Things for the city, focused in the domestic use. This project consisted in the design of a new kind of electrodomestic (Vermi) made for recycle organic waste produced in small spaces and the creation of a mobile App which monitor the process and teaches the user about Vermicomposting.
Vermicomposter with Internet of Things for domestic use
Vermi is a vermicomposter that has a humidity and temperature sensor, a led light for notifications and a system that connects to wifi to send the collected data to a mobile App called Sustenta Vermi, which shows the user in real time the status of the Vermi, delivers special notifications on what to do in case something goes wrong, and teaches about the entire process.

Sustenta Vermi App have different sections, counting with a Home where you can check the state of Vermi and see some notifications. State section where the sensor data is shown in real time. Problem section that teaches what to do in different cases. Information section for understanding the worms necessity, what kind of organic waste you can add, and the benefits of organic recycle, The final section is Community that is thought for connecting the different users.
